Chapter 42 is the forty-second chapter of the Gamaran series.

Summary[]
Shinnojou battles Misaku and wounds him
Plot[]
Gekirin is explained at how it works. Shinnojou uses Gekirin to attack Misaku but Misaku blocks it. Misaku then tries to counter attack but Shinnojou dodges. Misaku then thinks about how he only uses two swords when their is a strong opponent and how he can attack and defeat while using two swords. Misaku then uses Magamitsuki, and tells Shinnojou to show him the swordsmenship of a child prodigy.
Shinnojou then remembers how he had nightmares after Misaku attacked the Itten School. Shinnojou then thinks that he was foolish when he let himself become full with conceit from teh title of child prodigy. Shinnojou then attacks Misaku but Misaku counters attacks. Shinnojou then tries to attack from blow but Misaku blocks it and tells him that his defense is flawless. Shinnojou then uses Hibashira but Misaku dodges. Shinnojou then slashes upwards and cuts Misaku's chin with Onigaeshi. Misaku then thinks about how the second attack was the real attack. Shinnojou then tells Misaku that its his turn have everything taken from him.
